Matt Duguid is an avid outdoorsman and filmmaker in middle Canada.

He is a freelance producer, director, 1st A.D. and cinematographer specializing in nature and wildlife programming, news and documentary, multi-camera music and sports, and commercial ads. He has worked on regional and national programming for CBC, CTV, APTN, Rogers Sportsnet and TSN.

Duguid has a broad range of experience in 4K, including proficiency with the Sony F5, Sony FS7, Canon C300 MK II,Canon 5DMK4 and Blackmagic Pocket Cinema 6k Pro. He regularly operates ENG 2/3 sensor cameras (Sony pxw-x500, Panasonic AJ-HPY3100) including long lenses and with full studio build up.

 

For nature and wildlife production, he has experience with scouting and identifying animal habitats, and using camera blinds, remote tethered cameras and off-grid power solutions.

 

As a former forest firefighter, Duguid has an extensive background in remote, camp and off-grid work in dangerous conditions. He has planned and executed multi-week and multi-month expeditions and understands the importance of a collaborative work environment and positive morale.

 

Duguid has transported equipment on float planes, small and medium helicopters, all terrain vehicles, snow machines and 4x4 vehicles. He has built heli-pads and rigged gear in cargo nets.

 

As a journeyman car mechanic, he knows his way around a wrench. He has rigged and mounted camera equipment, and serviced equipment in the field. 

 

Most importantly, Duguid has a great respect for the transformative power the natural world has on the human soul.
